Dennis and Kimberly Quaid are on 60 Minutes talking about the tragic medicine mishap with their infant twins. After 5 miscarriages, they had finally decided on a surrogate with which they were blessed with twins. Dennis is looking into these scary cases that are the cause of more deaths than you can imagine and being proactive.

Dennis: “It was the scariest most frightening day that either of us have ever been through.”

Kimberly: “I just had this horrible feeling come over me. I had a felt like the babies were passing.”

They explained that the babies were bleeding out of every blood draw point. I can not imagine seeing this happen to your precious innocent babies. After 12 days in the hospital of intense treatments, they were able to go home.

How are they now?

Kimberly: “They are doing great. They’re beautiful”

Demi: Look, you’re married to a younger man [the Strokes’ Nick Valensi]; I’m married to a younger man. People made such a fuss about it, you would have thought the world had never seen it before. Age wasn’t what I was thinking about, but to the rest of the world it was a very big deal.

Amanda: Did you consider how your daughters might be impacted by friends of theirs having posters of their stepdad on their walls?

Demi: I didn’t bring somebody into their lives lightly. I looked at Ashton and thought, He’s 25 [he’s now 30]; it’s a lot to ask. Being with me isn’t about just being in a relationship with me; it’s about someone stepping into a situation where there is already a huge level of responsibility.
